Press Releases‘KIDZ SOUTH' – New KIDZ on the blockExhibition for disabled children ventures South The first “KIDZ SOUTH” Exhibition for disabled children took place at the Rivermead Leisure Complex in Reading on Thursday 15th March 2007 . Now in its 110 th year the charity DISABLED LIVING has been organising their annual KIDZ UP NORTH exhibition in Lancashire for the past six years, focussing on equipment, products and services for disabled children and their families. Due to popular demand from visitors and exhibitors alike, they have ventured South for the first time to hold their first KIDZ SOUTH exhibition in Reading . Over 2,000 people, mainly families with one or more disabled child, went along to the show to see around 100 stands displaying the latest equipment and product solutions. There was also a programme of seminars and round-table discussions for parents and professionals, and a variety of voluntary organisations were on hand to provide information. A children's event wouldn't be complete without some fun and games, including the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Treasure Trail, and children's entertainer “Fred in the Shed”. And the Atlantis Reading Rockets sent along two basketball players (Ryan Williams and Steve Humphreys) to meet some of the children. Director of Disabled Living, Marie Hendry, said “It was a great success – we will definitely be holding another exhibition in Reading next year on 19th June 2008 .” The day before the exhibition Disabled Living hosted their annual Paediatric Moving & Handling Conference (Moving Kidz) for health care professionals at the same venue. Parents and health care professionals who attended the show praised the organisers for getting so many suppliers together under one roof, and for providing a great day out for families. The next KIDZ UP NORTH Exhibition will take place on Thursday 20th November 2008 at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton .
