PRESS RELEASE – Kidz South

This years Kidz South exhibition welcomed almost 1,500 people through the doors of the Rivermead Leisure Centre in Reading.

Kidz South, one of three of the UK’s exhibitions organised by Disabled Living, North West. The events are totally dedicated to disabled children, their parents, carers and the health and social care professionals who support them.

The Kidz exhibitions offer people an opportunity to try out the most up to date and innovative equipment available in the UK. In addition there is a wealth of information provided by voluntary, statutory and commerical organisations to signpost and support parents.

This year we welcomed a number of new exhibitors and Disabled Living will develop the Kidz events around, what the children, parents and professionals require. Feedback from this years visitors highlight they would like to see more car companies, adapted caravans/motorhomes, sensory equipment, toys, outdoor play equipment, hoists, aids to daily living such as cutlery, bathroom accessories etc, products for children with bladder and bowel problems and local retailers.

There is always a fun element to the events and we were entertained by local children’s entertainer Fred in the Shed. The exhibitors at the Kidz events also join in with the fun and this year was no exception. Easy Mobility Limited had brought along Andrew Smith, who entertained the young and not so young with his amazing balloon creations, bunches of flowers, monkey’s on trees and disney characters – the children’s smiling faces said it all!

Our next event is Kidz Up North at the Reebok Arena in Bolton on Thursday, 26th November 2009, entry is free to visitors. We hope you can join us.

The Kidz in the Middle exhibition will be held on Thursday 11th March 2010 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and will be considerably larger than last year. Increasingly more and more companies are choosing the Kidz events to launch new equipment. Disabled Living are pleased at the number of enquiries we have received from companies who currently trade outside the UK as this will ensure there is always new equipment to see.

The free seminars at the Kidz events attract hundreds of professionals, children and parents are also welcome. The seminars, facilitated by extremely knowledgeable and well known speakers provide information on a diverse range of current topics that will enhance professional practice and provide evidence for CPD.

In addition, at Kidz in the Middle there will be a half day conference (am and pm sessions available) addressing issues relating to best practice in handling and moving children, from experts renowned in this field. We are very much aware that this conference will attract people from all over the UK and have allocated places for up to 150 delegates in each session.
